Hartley Hall Markets

The Hartley Hall Markets is now one of Australia’s largest home-made and home grown goods markets. The markets have a rural theme and are held at the picturesque Hall Village Showground, just 10 kilometers north of Canberra. The markets have grown dramatically since 1987 with just 36 stalls and a 20-cent entry fee with some of the original stallholders still going strong. Since the first gathering many thousands of people have made visiting the Hartley Hall Markets a family tradition. Friendly atmosphere and great bargains to be found, the Hartley Hall Markets offer the best of fresh produce, baked goods, plants, furniture, clothing, pottery, jewellery, children’s toys, crafts, unique gifts, and much more. Barbeques, canteens, live music and other entertainment makes each visit a fun, family day out. Entry is by a gold coin donation helping fund Hartley Lifecare’s disability services. The Hartley Hall Markets are held from 10am to 3pm on the first Sunday of every month except January.

Hartley Lifecare would like to give special thanks to our Hartley Hall Market Volunteers. Our markets would not be possible without our amazing team of volunteers. They attend every month and many of them have been volunteering at the markets for close to 30 years… now that's dedication!

Our volunteers help to set up all day Saturday then start at 6.00am on market day, help out all day and stay to pack and clean up long after the markets are over. Every season... through sunshine and freezing frosts!

We appreciate their contribution to our local charity beyond measure. We would like to send out a BIG thank you for their tremendous support and the hours they give so generously every month to Hartley Lifecare.

Judy & Paul Stevens, Marcia and Bob Skidmore, Tony and Margaret Morris, Lo Pilato Family and Friends, Shirley Sly,
Di Walmsley, Harry Evans, Peter Bray, Barry Starr, Ross Ellis and
Beth Johnston...

We would also like to make special mention of our enthusiastic Radford College Yr 10 students and the Birralee and Lake Ginninderra Scouts groups - a BIG thank you to all of you.

We were also thrilled to have extra hands on deck for our May market - Michael, Jade and Nicholas, all spent their Sunday volunteering. We wish them the very best in their work to obtain their Duke of Edinburgh awards.

Next time you visit the Hartley Hall Markets, take a minute to get to know some of these awesome volunteers. They are truly wonderful people.

See you all on Sunday 5th June @ the Hartley Hall Markets.

Leonie :-)
